Magaly, the recipient for Outstanding Security & Loss Prevention Employee of the Year, has been turning challenging situations into positive memories for many years as a safety and security professional, known for her quick-thinking during emergencies to keep guests and team members calm and safe.

She takes a hands-on approach to building the security team by conducting interviews, leading onboarding, and mentoring new hires. Through these efforts and more, the security department’s employee satisfaction scores have jumped more than 20 percent – one of the highest on property.

Magaly’s strongest passion is protecting guests and making sure they have the very best customer service experiences. During Hurricane Helene, she sprang into action with quick thinking and proactively cleared storm drains to prevent flooding and reduce risk for the guests and resort workers.

In another instance, a young child fell while playing volleyball at the resort and began to have a seizure. Magaly was one of the first on the scene and quickly provided first aid to the child while reassuring their upset mother that everything would be ok.

On several other occasions, Magaly has surprised children who were injured during their stay with balloons and ice cream. It is this unique ability to reassure and lead during an emergency, combined with a passion for creating lasting positive memories for visitors that makes Magaly indispensable to her team and managers!
