Say hello to Khalil Hassan, a Front Dest Supervisor at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando International Drive Icon Park, and our next member of the CFHLA Leadership Mentoring Program, Class II.

Khalil’s love for traveling and unique experiences is what led to his career within the hospitality industry. Khalil also loves creating experiences for guests and learning about their journeys across the globe. This is why working within the hospitality industry has been a perfect match for him.

One of Khalil’s favorite guest experiences was a guest who had an issue within their room on the first night of their weeklong stay in Orlando. With the hotel being completely sold out, the guest was unable to be moved to a new room after check in. However, the next day, Khalil found a way to upgrade the guest (at no cost) where they enjoyed the next eight days exploring the Central Florida area. The guest was so thankful for Khalil’s help, and he was thrilled to be able to turn their trip around into a wonderful experience.

Khalil recommends the Leadership Mentoring Program because it has taught each of the participants something new, no matter how experienced they are. Plus, it has taught him new ways to lead his team and help build their confidence, such as him teaching each of them how to resolve their own issues and learning how to be proactive versus reactive. Lastly, the program has reminded him to not look over the little things, as they can turn into big things down the road.

Looking ahead, Khalil hopes to continue to advance his career within the hospitality industry and ultimately become a General Manager (or higher) at hotel property in the future.
